The Wayne Information Network met on February 11, 2002 at 4:00 PM in the media center of Goldsboro Middle School. A welcome was extended by Ramona Dunkley, media coordinator, and refreshments were served.  The following were in attendance:

The meeting was called to order and introductions were made by Chair, Lovely Forte. Assistant principal, Rex Howard, welcomed the members to the school.

Business Meeting

Old Business:

The by-laws changes were presented.

• II. Purpose.  The changes were tabled pending clarification of intent.
• The position of vice-chair to serve a one (1) year term was approved.
• Article V and VI Change the meeting day to the 2nd Monday of February, May, August, and November

• The initiative of the Rural Internet Access Authority and e-nc was discussed.  Wayne County's Steering Committee includes Jane Rustin, Director, Wayne County Public Library and Olivia Pierce, Director of Media Services, Wayne County Public Schools. The objectives of the intiative are to determine the status of Internet availablilty in the county and determine the direction. Five public forums will be held during April for citizen discussions.
