MINUTES
August 12, 2002

To The WIN Members and Friends

In lieu of a meeting we will electronically “meet”.
  Due to circumstances beyond my control (death in my family and work/meetings at the job) I let the date slip up on me.
  Please count it to my head and not my heart.   Please read the following minutes and if there are corrections, please email me.
  The Wayne Information Network met on August 12, 2002 at 4:00 pm on the campus of Mt. Olive College in Moye Library.   Bob Hudson, Director and the library staff greeted the members to the meeting.
  In attendance were the following: Marion P. Waters, WCPL; Marjorie Mitchell, Grantham; Susan G. Ryberg, Mt. Olive College; Heather Braswell, Mt. Olive College; Susan Parris, WCC; Bob Hudson, Mt. Olive College; Rose Paul Blackwell, SWHS; Sherry Smith, SWHS; Ramona Dunkley, GMS; Eileen Gauthier, SSS; Pamela Wood, Mt. Olive College; and Lovely D. Forte, BMS.

L. Forte welcomed members and the agenda was distributed.
  The meeting was called to order and a welcome extended to all newcomers.   Minutes of May 13, 2002 were approved.
  The old business discussed was electing a vice chair.
  The nominating committee tried via email for nomination but a glitz in the system slowed the progress.
  The committee said they would try again.   Dr. Kester wasn’t present to give us a report on the status of the Serial Catalog.
  No new business was discussed at this time.   A discuss took place concerning an article in the Goldsboro News-Argus about the lending library started with the Smart Start Organization.
  It was noted that a representative was invited to participate and share their program with WIN.
   The next meeting will be November 18, 2002 because November 11, 2002 is Veteran’s Day.

Now for the meeting:   Old business: I would like to get the vice chair in place by the next meeting. This is very important because if the chair or secretary is not available the meeting will go on as schedule.

New business: CONGRATULATION to our own SUSAN PARRIS for 30 years on HOTLINE!!!!   It is good to honor those who go beyond the call of duty!!!

Our next meeting will be February 10, 2003 at one of the Wayne County Public Schools.
