WAYNE COUNTY LIBRARY COOPERATIVE

INTERLIBRARY LOAN GUIDELINES

The purpose of interlibrary loan service in the Wayne County Library Cooperative is to provide patrons with needed materials not available from their most frequented library. Patrons are expected to exhaust the resources of their library before placing a request for interlibrary loan services.

WAYNE COUNTY LIBRARY COOPERATIVEINTERLIBRARY LOAN AGREEMENT

The ________________________ Library and the Wayne County Library Cooperative agree to permit the library's participation in the Wayne County Library Cooperative.
  1. The library agrees to honor North Carolina Information Network Loan Code and the Wayne County Library Cooperative Interlibrary Loan Guidelines. The above named unit agrees that its library may be utilized in network activities as a supplementary source. Lost or damaged materials will be replaced by the borrowing library.

  2. The above name unit agrees to maintain local financial effort in providing library services and will not reduce expenditures for library operations because of membership in the Cooperative.

  3. The library agrees to submit interlibrary loan requests on the standardized forms as used by the Cooperative.

  4. The library agrees to provide interlibrary loan data as requested by the Cooperative and the North Carolina Information Network.

  5. The Wayne County Library Cooperative agrees to provide access to the collections of the North Carolina Information Network to the above named library for the purpose of interlibrary loan.

  6. Each party reserves the right to cancel this Agreement upon written notice to the other parties to the Agreement.
