Purpose of WIN

The purpose of WIN shall be to promote library and library services development.

Mission

The mission of WIN shall be to develop cooperative:

• Services and programming for citizens of Wayne County;
• Collection development;
• Staff development;
• Access to information locally and globally.

Members

Any person associated with public, school, academic, and special libraries, who is residing or working in Wayne County may be a member.

Officers

The officers shall be a chair, vice-chair, and a recorder. The vice-chair will be elected as an officer for two years by the members attending the Spring meeting. The recorder will be elected in the Spring of the even numbered years and may be re-elected.  Officers will assume their duties at the Summer meeting.

• The chair shall designate the host for each meeting and shall notify members of the time and place at least three (3) weeks in advance.
• The vice-chair shall arrange the program for each meeting.
• The recorder shall keep a record of each meeting and distribute the minutes.

Meetings

Regular meetings will be held quarterly, Spring (May), Summer (August), Fall (November), and Winter (February), on the second (2nd) Monday of the month, unless it falls on a federal holiday, in which case it will be scheduled on the 3rd Monday. Hosts will be rotated according to the following schedule:

• Spring at WCPL,
• Summer at Wayne Community College or Mount Olive College
• Fall at a Special library (Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, Cherry,Wayne County Day School, others)
• Winter at a Wayne Public School.

• May 13, 2002
• August 12, 2002
• November 18, 2002
