Make
a Folded Garden Trellis Border
Can you feel the sunshine? Is summer just around the corner? I really enjoy the sunny seasons--especially since I moved to Minnesota with it's cold winters!! I grew up with parents who enjoyed gardening and I guess the bug got passed onto me! Flowers make me happy no matter what the season. All hubby has to do after a tiff is bring me flowers--especially live ones--and all is right with the world! :) Do you garden or love someone who does? Did you get flowers as a gift? Was there a wedding in the family with a outdoor floral theme? Or maybe you will just take a photo op trip to the local plant nursery with the kids? Well, get ready to learn to make the PERFECT page border for your flower power pages! All you need are the following supplies.
Step One: Step Two: Step Three: Note: If you work with 12x12 papers
(or even on some 8.5x11), you may want to open up the folded trellis for a wider
overall lattice trellis frame. Opening the fold will make the trellis 4.5x11
inches. The slots will then look like "V"s. You can then proceed with
the following steps just as the narrow trellis is made. Step Four:
Step Five: Step Six: If you want to use stickers, I suggest a leafy Ivy or plain greenery as well as your more colorful flowers. I have used Ivy stickers from Mrs. Grossman, the Gifted Line, and Crafts, Etc. on my (figure 15 above) brown trellis with Mrs. Grossman floral stickers. Mixing and matching stickers is fine as well as the style is fairly similar. It is all up to you.... Step Seven:
Step Eight:
As you can see this flower and trellis border idea can be used more than once and still look completely different! This lattice trellis would be lovely on a wedding page, garden theme party, or any number of floral theme events. Take the camera out to the garden, the rose bed, or the nature center and get some good shots. And while the season lasts...enjoy the power of the flower!!!
